I came to Whidbey Island in 1973. The island was pristine and beautiful, like nothing I had ever seen before. My father was in the Air Force, so I grew up in the southwest regions of the USA... you can imagine my thrill as I drove north and crossed the water on a ferry to Whidbey for the very first time. I recalled the impressive, beautiful trees of the northwest, the quiet, and the Puget Sound sparkling like diamonds in the summer sun. I fell in love, truly, and this became my home.
